Scalp micro pigmentation (SMP) is a cosmetic procedure that involves the application of pigment to the scalp to create the appearance of hair follicles or stubble.
It is a non-surgical and minimally invasive treatment for hair loss that can be used to camouflage baldness, thinning hair, or receding hairlines in both men and women. It can also camouflage former hair transplant scars. The SMP technique uses a specialized micro-needle to apply pigment to the scalp in tiny dots, replicating the look of a closely shaved head and a fuller head of hair. Scalp Micropigmentation rejuvenates our clients, reversing the effects that baldness and thinning hair can have on an individual’s self-confidence.
The color and shape of the pigment dots are customized to match the client’s natural hair color and style, resulting in a natural-looking and long-lasting solution for hair loss. SMP is a safe, effective, and low-maintenance option for anyone looking to improve their appearance and confidence by enhancing their hairline or creating the illusion of hair density.
SMP offers many benefits to people who suffer from hair loss, hereditary baldness or scarring on the scalp, these include:
1. Provides a full, youthful looking head of hair close to that of a freshly, close-shaven head.
2. Restores a natural looking hairline for heads with complete or partial baldness.
3. Permanently disguises all forms of alopecia, balding, thinning or receding hairlines.
4. Camouflages the visual impact of burns, scarring or birthmarks dramatically.
5. Helps to restore confidence and rebuild self-esteem.
Below is our process on our SMP procedure. The treatment will be complete after a number of sittings, which is usually a minimum of 3, potentially more depending on the individual.
The process kicks off with a detailed consultation. We will assess your current situation and plan the route forward, including styles of the hairlines , the amount of sessions and requirements for your first treatment session. We will also walk you through the procedure in person.During this consultation any of your questions will be answered so you have everything you need to begin the treatment.
For your scalp micropigmentation to look the best quality and authentic is simply can’t be done in a day of treatment. As a rule of thumb you will require a minimum of three sittings.
In your first session, we will start mapping out your treatment (of course this will vary depending on your required treatment). After mapping out, you will be left with some initial impressions.
In your second session, we will sit down and make more impressions to give your scalp a layered looking effect. It will start to all come together in this session. Grain, density and darkness will be added to give a natural effect. After each session, you will start to see the results take shape.
For some individuals, this may be your last treatment, but in this session, we will make more impressions on your scalp and finishing touches.
Don’t worry, if you require more than three sessions it isn’t bad, it just means that we need to do a little extra work to ensure we give you the best results possible.
This could be down to many factors, such as the size of the area being treated and the skin type.
We will also give you a complete aftercare guide to ensure that you are left with long-lasting results.
Your treatment is now complete! Aftercare is just as important as the treatment to ensure long lasting effects.
Upon completion we will talk your through how to maintain your scalp micropigmentation, but you can also find a detailed aftercare guide here too.
